STRAW BALE

STRUCTURALLY INSULATED PANEL S-SIP

are standardized, modular building components that combines modern fabrication with natural building practices.

A "Straw Bale Structural Insulated Panel" (SIP) is a revolutionary building method.

It combines efficient, modern fabrication processes with the tested environmental, health, and thermal benefits of natural building practices.

S-SIPs are modular building components that accelerate construction timelines and reduce the amount of labor needed on site.

Best yet, they are a highly insulative, carbon negative, and naturally fire-retardant system.

Straw S-SIPS are a game changer in construction

and here's why

Fewer Repairs

Built with the environment in mind, S-SIPs help lower your carbon footprint while providing long-term value and durability.

S-SIPs provide superior insulation, keeping your home comfortable year-round while reducing energy bills.

Building with natural materials allows for proper air and moisture movement, and removes materials that off-gas from your home.

These panels are designed to last, meaning fewer maintenance issues down the road.

The system is comprised of several components to ensure long-term thermal performance and excellent indoor air quality.

Each panel is protected by vapor-permeable layers on both sides of the building shell. This layered assembly allows moisture to pass freely through the walls to maintain balanced humidity levels, but prevents air from leaking in our out.

Not only do they provide a structural wall system, they can also save up to 75% on heating and cooling costs due to their excellent thermal properties. Under compression, each panel achieves consistent R-values (R-35+).

STRAW SIP ECOSYSTEM

Panelized straw bale construction make use of agricultural byproducts (straw) to store atmospheric carbon into our buildings for hundreds of years.

At the end of their lifecycle, they can be easily replaced, repaired, or if nothing else, composted.

Here's how the ecosystem works:
