What is a straw SIP?

A straw structurally insulated panel (SIP) is a building material that combines the benefits of straw bales with insulation technology. These panels consist of a core of straw, which is sandwiched between layers of structural studs. This design offers excellent thermal performance. Straw SIPs are an innovative solution for sustainable construction, promoting both environmental responsibility and effective insulation.

02

Will straw create pests?

Straw bale walls are an excellent choice for pest control in your home. Their unique composition makes it difficult for pests to penetrate, providing a natural barrier against unwanted intruders.

03

Does a straw wall have

moisture issues?

Straw walls mitigate moisture, went constructed correctly, through their natural properties. The straw fibers allow for air circulation, which helps reduce humidity levels inside the wall. Additionally, when constructed with materials that enable moisture movement through the wall, moisture does not build up, instead it moves through the wall.

04

Why are the straw sips

premanufactured?

We are proponents for accessible, healthy housing. Traditional natural built construction is a large investment of heart, time, and community. By creating a premanufactured wall system we hope to bring natural building to everyone.
