Bale Craft is an interdisciplinary team of farmers, builders, designers, teachers, thinkers, and doers. We work with natural materials to build healthier environments, provide attainable housing alternatives, and sequester tons of carbon, literally.

We are launching the first Straw-Bale SIP (Structurally Insulated Panel) manufacturing facility in the Midwest.

 

We manufacture panelized wall systems with natural materials and offer architectural design services to provide high-performing and low cost wall assemblies to builders, developers, and homeowners.

Bale Craft is a Design/build company that loves to collaborate. We want to work with builders, developers, homeowners, or anyone who needs a structure. Within the construction ecosystem, we specialize in designing beautiful structures, building prefab wall panels that make up the building’s “shell” (structure and insulation), and coordinating their installation on site.

 

Depending on the client and project, we are situated to serve as General contractor and complete the entire project, or consult an already chosen builder on how to integrate our product into their process.

Our Product

  • We offer design and natural building consultation, panelizing, and manufacturing services to integrate our SIPs into any new or existing design.

  • We sell our panels to regional(and state-wide) builders who use our product as a 1-1 replacement for other prefab wall construction products.

  • We also offer pre-designed wall packages that fit standard foundation and roof systems.

  • Within the scope of a typical project, we will work with local builders, architects, and homeowners to panelize their new structure, provide a 3D model of our panels for their visualization purposes, fabricate the wall panels, deliver them to the site of construction, and consult builders on the installation process to ensure efficiency and performance.
